Hi there.

Finding balance, healing spirits, and feeding the wanderlust in me.

I am a formerly overworked entrepreneur on a journey to add more whitespace and wellness into my life. That means more travel, yoga, and smoothies!

I cannot wait to transform and grow with you.

CBD Chocolate Lavender Truffles

Trouble sleeping? Need to chill out? Anxiety at an all time high? Just love the calming effects of all natural CBD? Oh, and do you like dark chocolate? Then this recipe is for you! I am pleased to report I've handed these out to a few sleep-deprived friends and they say they work like a charm! (They also work on me, but since I don't have troubles sleeping, I thought it best to test with an insomniac.) On with the show:

INGREDIENTS

(Filled two gemstone molds with some extra to spare, so makes approximately 16 large truffles.)

Layer 1:

2 tbsp coconut butter

1 drop lavender oil (I used doTerra)

A pinch/drop of purple food coloring (I used Supernatural all-natural blackberry coloring

Layer 2:

8 droppers full* of CBD oil (I used Tonic CBD, the OG, with ashwaghanda and other healing adaptogens. Plain CBD would also work.)

6 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp original or vanilla bean ghee

2 tbsp cacao powder

1 tbsp maple syrup

*23 grams per serving/ large truffle. If you use the mold I used, you'll also have some medium and small truffles, with approximately 12 and 5 grams per serving accordingly. I am a tiny lightweight, so I found the small ones perfect for me, while my boyfriend preferred the medium or large size for his needs.)

DIRECTIONS

LAYER 1

  1. On the stovetop, melt coconut butter on low until a liquid consistency.
  2. Add melted coconut butter, lavender essential oil and purple food coloring to your bowl or blender and whisk or blend until smooth (about 30-60 seconds).
  3. Carefully pour or spoon into your silicone mold, leaving plenty of room for the next layer. (Fill about 1/4 of the way up.)

LAYER 2

  1. Combine coconut oil and vanilla bean ghee in a saucepan. On the stovetop, melt on low until a liquid consistency.
  2. Combine melted mixture with cacao powdermaple syrup and CBD oil and whisk or blend until smooth (about 30-60 seconds).
  3. Pour into the silicone molds on top of the lavender layer and carefully place mold in the freezer. (This part was tough, so I recommend putting your molds on a cookie sheet or in a pan that will fit in your freezer, then pouring and moving. The silicone molds are bendy and lend to lots of spilling en route to the freezer!)
  4. Once frozen (after at least an hour), remove fudge from silicone molds and place in freezer safe container. Keep stored in the freezer.

Before consuming, I highly recommend you leave your truffle out to thaw. The richness of the flavors will settle and become a bit more mild and enjoyable this way.

Also, I want to note that I am no expert when it comes to CBD, so if you have questions, I found this article to be helpful. It's also supposedly legal in all 50 states, but again do your research. This site might be handy as a starting point.

Also, look for companies that use locally sourced CBD from trusted farms. That goes for just about anything you put in your body, in my humble opinion. ;)

Wishing you whitespace and wellness and an excellent night's sleep,

Tiffany
